You lose your job. The next week you turn 40 years old. 3 weeks
later you go to the doctor for a routine exam. The doctor comes
into the small sterile exam room and says, You have cancer.
After some brief discussion he asks if youd like to wait here
or in the waiting room while he sets up your surgery. Sooner
is better than later, he says. As you silently sit in the
waiting room time stands still. You realize your life isnt
the same anymore.
Steve
reveals the struggles of facing cancer and certain key principles
God is using to help him discover a closer walk with Christ and
a new perspective in reaching out to others. His personal manner
and openness about his experiences reveal a deep confidence in Gods
faithfulness and sovereignty. God is still on the throne.
He didnt suddenly get off because I got cancer, he shares.
People laugh and sometimes cry as he reveals how God is training
him to be a child of a gentle, gracious, yet powerful King.

Steve performs a mix of worship music, new and old, that people
enjoy singing to with special songs and personal testimony mixed
in. The music is powerful and delivered in a professional manner
that appeals to a broad audience. People will come away refreshed
and more confident in their relationship with Christ and know that
where ever they are in life Christ seeks for us to be closer to
Him.

Steve grew up loving music but his first active involvement was
at church. The Pastor started a new worship service that also used
guitar accompaniment. His sister once said, I didnt
think he had the concentration to do anything until he borrowed
a guitar. 3 weeks later he was playing and singing in church.
Steves commented, I loved what was happening at our
church on Sunday morning. People lives were changing and the music
and worship was a natural expression of their faith and love toward
Christ. I wanted to be involved and I loved the music I heard.
Steve often led the worship music while still in high school, majored
in vocal performance in college and traveled professionally for
sometime thereafter. Since then Steve has led worship in many churches
over the years. Most recently at Wayside Chapel and Smithson Valley
EFC where he led worship for 2 1/2 years. Steve is presently employed
by KPMG Consulting as a Senior Systems Analyst. Steve and his wife
of 18 years, Dana, have 4 children and live just south of San Antonio.
